| Introduction | I taught for 35 years, 19 years of that as a Teacher-Librarian. Since retiring I have maintained a more than academic interest in children's literature and reading promotion. If parents read good books with their children regularly, from the time they are born and beyond when they have started at school, they might be surprised how much better they cope with learning. This is why I review quality books for beginning readers on Thursday mornings on 4MBS Classic Radio FM in Brisbane. The segment started in 1996 and I wouldn't be getting up at 6am to do it if I didn't believe in it! |
