| Introduction | Introduction to Women’s Studies is an interdisciplinary seminar that places the study of women and their experiences at the center of the curriculum. Drawing on a variety of sources, this course provides a broad overview of the social, political, economic, and cultural conditions shaping women’s lives. The topics we address this semester are: feminist history, theory, and activism; constructions of gender and issues in sexuality; images and representations of women in the media; reproductive rights; violence against women; globalization; and the future of feminism. |
