| Introduction | The most frequent question I get in regards to my choices in life is, "Why would a girl like you want to do something like that?". Why indeed. I grew up in Michigan, majored in Roman history and literature in college, then spent six years in the United States Navy, including a year in Afghanistan. I've been married to and divorced from a fighter pilot and met tons of awesome people along the way. These days I live and work in a beautiful corner of the US answering 911 calls and dispatching for police and fire departments. I have two dogs and I try to avoid creepily comparing them to children whenever possible. I run, weight-lift, read, write, quilt, hike, kayak, and less awesomely spend time freaking out, watching bad reality TV, drinking lots of coffee, and trying to act like a grown-up. |
