| Introduction | I am a born-again Christian and a former missionary kid who grew up in Japan, the son of John and Patty Himes (faithful missionaries for 30+ years). I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in New Testament from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC), having studied under Dr. David Alan Black. My dissertation was titled: "A Foreknown Destiny for the Destitute: An Examination of 1 Peter's Concept of Foreknowledge in the Establishment of Social Identity." I have had the privilege of being published in the Bulletin for Biblical Research, Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Filologia Neotestamentaria, and Science and Christian Belief. I am in the process of looking for a teaching position. |
