| Introduction | I have spent the past 15 years working with children in some capacity. I started my career in 1994 as a Child Care Counselor at a residential treatment facility for adolescent boys with severe social-emotional disorders. I then became a Director of a School-Age Child Care program in the Jefferson County Public Schools in Denver, Colorado. After four years of working as a Director, I had my first child and decided that I needed to stay home. I am now the mother of three beautiful boys, ages 11, 7, and 5. When my oldest son began school I became involved by volunteering in the classroom. I found that I loved being in the classroom. I would leave feeling energized. When my youngest son turned three, I went back to school to become a teacher. I completed the Early Childhood Education Teacher Certification Program through the University of Rhode Island. Shortly after student teaching I was offered, and accepted, a long-term substitute position in second grade. I am thrilled to be the new Kindergarten Teacher at Fishing Cove Elementary. I am enjoying these amazing Kindergarten students! |
