IntroductionI am a K-12 Literacy Coordinator in a school district in St. Louis. Previously, I served as an instructional coach specializing in ELA and, before that, as an elementary classroom teacher. This blog is dedicated to supporting educators in feeling more confident, effective, and successful in their practice. With so many voices, initiatives, and opinions shaping education today, it is hard to “See Through It All”. My goal is to help teachers cut through the noise by blending research-based insights with real-life classroom experiences—encouraging them to “See it Through” and keep teaching, learning, reflecting, and refining their craft. You may notice that the blog's URL reflects its original name. Initially, I called it Teaching from the Left—not for political reasons, but because it had a better ring than Teaching from the Side. As a coach, I often found myself working from the sidelines, supporting and cheering on educators as they built thriving learning communities. While the blog’s name has evolved to better reflect its mission, its heart remains the same: helping teachers navigate the complexities of education with clarity and purpose.
