| Introduction | I am a 35-year-old middle school English teacher with a husband who loves me very much, and who happens to be from Morocco. We met when I happened to be traveling over there one summer, and he happened to be in the same medina where I had just un-lost myself. He, too, was on summer holiday from his job as a primary school teacher. A friendship blossomed first, and then love came later. We married in 2009 after going through the dreadful process on obtaining a visa to move to the U.S. I don't recommend it to anyone. If we had it all to do over again, we'd probably be living the simple life in Morocco, but we are here in the U.S. now, trying to make the best of the American lifestyle we don't exactly care for, and loving each other all the while. The purpose of this blog, my first ever, is to share my experiences in a cross-cultural, cross-faith, loving marriage, and perhaps find and connect with others with similar experiences. |
