Industry Arts
Occupation Artiste'
Location Goleta, California, United States
Introduction My earliest memory of creating art was when I was just a baby, drawing with crayons on the walls or anywhere that I could find a drawing surface. When I finished schooling I could no longer resist the lure of the big city and made the leap to the Big Apple, N.Y. Once I was there, I discovered the Soho District, known for all of its art galleries, my childhood interest in art was reignited and art became more than just a hobby. Eventually moving to Boston I studied at the New England School of Art & Design and the Montseratt College of Art, in Beverly, Massachusetts. After graduation I have been painting prolifically that hundreds of my paintings are throughout the world. Reflecting back to before I took painting seriously, all I did was paint and clutter the walls in my house with so many. This proliferation of art happily shocked my friends who came to visit me. It still never occurred to sign a one! At my first art show where I lived at the time in Rockport, Massachusetts, I signed and sold my very first painting on the spot and the rest is history. Look for my post titled "My very first Artshow" to read all about it.
Interests Painting! I also love physical activity, and do spinning classes regularly and love those endorphin highs from it! I take pleasure in gardening around my home, and I'm slowly adding draught tolerant succulents and California native plants. No more lawn or pulling weeds! I've traveled to Costa Rica, Italy, Greece and Turkey, and I'm hoping this is just the start. Rio de Janeiro is at the top of my list.
Favorite Movies Kite Runner, Bricklane, Forest Gump, Midnight in Paris, so many. I mostly enjoy movies that are character studies. Independent films are my favorite usually.
Favorite Music Beck, John Mayer, Cold Play, Ottmer Liebert, David Grey, just to name a few of the more contemporary artists of the day. But, of course I love all the old rock n' roll of the 70's & 80's, and the beauty of classical music.
Favorite Books Three Cups of Tea. Eat, Pray, Love.
