| Introduction | Yester Primary School is situated in south east Scotland, about 30 miles east of the capital city, Edinburgh. The school is in the picturesque village of Gifford, about 5 minutes drive from the larger market town of Haddington. The school is only minutes from the Lammermuir hills, yet is also only around 15 minutes drive from beautiful beaches. Kuvansin koulu (Kuvansi Primary School) is situated in eastern Finland in the village of Kuvansi, close to the larger town of Varkaus. Kuvansi is set in the beautiful eastern lakeland area of Finland, about 300 kms north-east of the capital city Helsinki. The two schools have worked together since 2007 on various projects, and pupils from each school have enjoyed visiting their partners in each others' countries. |
