| Introduction | In 5667/1906, my grandfather sailed from the beautiful Island of Rhodes and settled in the Heart of Dixie, with hopes of building a secure future for his family. My home in Alabama and the exotic Mediterranean homeland of my grandparents stood as distinct from one another as bluegrass music and a spinach boreka. It was definitely an interesting way to grow up. A century passed and, in 5767/2007 my wonderful husband, David, and I fulfilled the dream of every holy neshama, to make Eretz Yisrael our home, where life is richer than we ever imagined. The story of how I got from the deep South to the Old City of Yerushalayim is like any Jew's path in life: a series of struggle & indecision, yearning & commitment, and a heavy dose of hashgacha pratis, Divine Providence. Thanks for visiting my musings about life in the center of the world.
