| Introduction | "Our greatest lessons are learned in the fiercest storms." -GIG. My name is Simona, but I go by my middle name Renee. I opened up with one of my favorite encouraging quotes. My political ideology quiz resulted in my being categorized as a New Coalition Democrat. This was along with 10% of the public. Per the quiz, I am considered to be hospitable to immigrants because I believe they strengthen our society. I attend church regularly and am a religious person. I do lean more towards the liberal side. I vote regularly. I have experience with elections as I work with the Texas Secretary of State. The Secretary of State is the chief election officer for the State of Texas. I have worked elections where we enter election results into a computer database to tally the votes. I am taking this class to fulfill the requirement for Texas Local Government. Along with the requirement, I hope to get more knowledge about Texas Government in general. I also hope to get constructive criticism from my colleagues. I scored better on the Texas General Knowledge quiz than the Texas Political Knowledge quiz. I have a general understanding of Texas but struggle with the political side of it all. |
