| Introduction | I'm a torn individual - I live and love gadgets and the web almost as much as I love the outdoors and the environment. Each day is a small struggle to strike a balance between living green and loving hi-tech: the two often don't agree with each other. Hence my late onset ambition slash probable career in transition: to become an online environmental communications activist. | Favorite Movies | How about favorite radio turned TV show? NPR's "This American Life" has migrated to Showtime, Thursday nights. I'm sad for radio but also hooked on Ira Glass's mug. |
| Favorite Music | Classic, alternative and folk-rock mainly. Very granola meets punk: Joni Mitchell and Van Morrison, Elvis Costello and The Clash. Rolling Stones, Rickie Lee Jones, Marvin Gaye, etc. Loving now: Cat Power and Alexi Murdoch. |
| Favorite Books | Most anything by Indian, Irish and British writers and poets: Arundhati Roy, Anita and Kiran Desai, Roddy Doyle, Seamus Heaney, Jeanette Winterson. Also Diane Ackerman, Isak Dinesen, Jorge Luis Borges, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller. LOTR. |
