| Introduction | After working for the same company for over 33 years, I felt it was time to take an early retirement. Fortunately, an opportunity came along when a friend needed a little help getting his new business up and running that allowed me to do just that. After helping with this start up venture for almost 4 years and seeing that it was becoming an extremely successful and growing business, I decided it was time to move on to the next phase of my life. I had wanted to do what is referred to as "work camping", where I travel in an RV and work in various locations around the country, many of which are in or near our great National Parks. So, since May of 2006, this is what I have been doing. Then, in 2012, I had the good fortune to meet someone with similar interests to mine. We discussed our options for the future and decided we wanted to travel and cram as many things into our remaining years as possible. So, our first decision was to hop on a 34' sailboat and sail / motor the Inter Coastal Waterway along the east coast. I have met many unique and interesting people, made many new friends and I have seen some of the most awesome scenery. |
