| Interests | The purpose of this blog is to tell the WHOLE story of the Mutiny on the Boundless and to explain the events surrounding the trial, the trial itself, the outcome, and to respond to various statements made post trial by Jeff Staples in an attempt to deflect attention away from the violent,brutal acts which he ADMITTED doing. |
| Favorite movies | ASSAULT: Staples ADMITTED that he kept Sherry restrained for hours, HOG TIED her, tied her to a 4 foot BROOM STICK, and DUCT TAPED HER MOUTH SHUT. In addition, contemporaneous tape recordings of the assault show that Jeff Staples also tied rope across Sherry's mouth and a NOOSE around her neck. Although Staples denied that he tortured Sherry, the tape recordings corroborate Sherry's assertion that Staples intentionally inflicted pain upon her in an effort to punish her. |

| Favorite books | According to Sherry's depositions and trial testimony, Sherry was finally untied and attempted to escape by dinghy. When Jeff would not untie the dinghy allowing her to go ashore, she went back onto the deck of the yacht and tried to deploy the liferaft. She testified that when Jeff saw what she was doing, he came after her again. She threw some items over the side of the yacht in an attempt to slow him down, and Staples threatened to throw her overboard. She then went to the aft of the yacht and grabbed the ignition keys and threatened to throw them into the water in an attempt to hold Jeff Staples, who was advancing towards her, at bay. Sherry testified that as Jeff grabbed her arm, ripping the strap off of the tank top, she threw the keys into the water. Enraged, Staples grabbed Sherry and lifted her up into the air, then hurled her down onto the deck (in the cockpit. He picked her up a second time and hurled her down again. When he went to do this a third time, Sherry was able to convince him that if he did this again she would be dead. Staples claimed he meant no harm to Sherry and was merely protecting his boat, himself, and Sherry. |
