Introduction Growing up in poverty with parents that were in over their heads along with the abuse of the Catholic Church & School destroyed any possibility I may have had to function as a normal human being. This resulted in a life time struggle against inferiority and just plain fear. Today I still think I need the approval of others. Sometime in the 80;s I read a book "Think on these Things", J Krishnamurti and it changed my life. I did not stop suffering, but I think he was saying something that made sense. We live out our lives in a state of semi consciousness and the source of our problems is thought. He said that beyond thought there is another source of action, but thought must end not for ever, we still need it for many things. Also any effort to stop thought is just more thought. The mind he said must be silent for creative action to take place. I think he is right but I haven't done it. I do not claim to know.
Interests Music, reading, hiking, biking, boating, movies and RV travel I especially enjoy science documentary's an example being "Through the Worm Hole". Mostly now however I spend my time trying to understand why- it is, that if we are intelligent is there so many ongoing problems. Wars continue, along with poverty, pollution and the loss of wilderness.
Favorite Music Chopin Nocturnes, Mozart clarinet concerto, Gorecki Symphony #3 -Satie Dvorak, Boccherini I love the guitar and strum a bit. I find something to like in most music genres.

In looking at the world can we actually claim in all honesty that the current state we are in is the product or outcome of intelligence?
