Introduction John Rosenfelder is a music industry veteran who specializes in promoting underground music independently after 17 years in labels such as MCA, Geffen/DGC, Windham Hill, Polydor and finally, Island Def Jam. In recent years with his consultancy Earbender, John has continued to promote music to radio programmers as well as online music entities such as blogs, social media and various other sites. Earbender has performed these and various other marketing/artist development functions for such artists as Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello, the Bob Marley estate, Collie Buddz, Shelby Lynne, Buddy Guy, Son Volt, Bob Dylan, Laura Cantrell and many more. Rosenfelder was the first non-artist featured on the cover of CMJ and appears in the books "Heavier Than Heaven"; "The Facts of Life and Other Dirty Jokes"; and "Goodbye 20th Century" about or by Nirvana, Willie Nelson and Sonic Youth. As one of the longest active college/community radio promoters, John has spoken on numerous panels for SXSW, CMJ and IBS conventions among others. John resides in New York City.
