| Introduction | I am an Independent Councillor for Thorpe Ward, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Deputy spokesman for the Independent Group on Southend Borough Council. Since being the first Independent elected in 2003 the group has quickly expanded and the Council now has an Independent Leader. We want a Council Administration formed from those with the best ability irrespective of which political party they belong to. For far too long party politics has not served the best interests of our town, our residents our local businesses. |
