About me

Location Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, Canada
Introduction Seameadows Farm is a small working farm owned and operated by Michael and Debra Rees/The Farmer's Wife. The original 640 acre section of land at the head of Nanoose Bay was settled in the mid 1800's by the Bonnell Family. This section of land that had a significant herd of dairy cattle on the hillside and shores of Nanoose Bay has changed much since then. The large potato field at the top of the hill is now home to Quality Foods, local post office and businesses that provide needed services to Nanoose Bay residents. It is known by locals as the Red Gap Area. Approximately 15 acres of shoreline was also subdivided off in the early 1950's and sold to the Nanoose Pentecostal Camp for seasonal use. It's a wonderful tidal area where families can swim and where wind surfers can enjoy the protection of the Bay. In 1980 the 80 acre Wildlife Protected area of Nanoose Estuary was subdivided off our heritage location and it now wraps the original historical farm location.
