| Introduction | My name is Lynn Casey RN. I have been fighting the perpetual ‘losing’ battle with my weight my entire life. One year ago, the stars aligned and 3 high school girlfriends got together for an evening… and a remarkable thing happened on an otherwise ordinary night. It was that night under the stars that we eventually revealed our hopes and dreams…and encouraged each other to pursue them. It was on that night…. my friend told me she would love to read my crazy stories about my life while sipping on her morning coffee. I thought she was CRAZY…but started writing this blog the very next day. I originally planned to write about my journey to lose 100 pounds over the next year; one year later I am the exact same weight! I realized over the course of this journey…that this blog was not about losing weight…it was all about sharing the unspoken horrors and disappointments of living in a fat body in a judgemental society, letting people know that they are not alone in their disappointments’ as 90% of us who never quite reach that magical number… and best of all…tell some of my funny little antidotes about the ‘slips and trips’ along the way. |
