Introduction Many people tend to comment on my uniquely-spelled name. My first name is spelled ALLISYN because my mother decided that she did not want the word 'son' at the end of her daughter's name. I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina where I fell in love with historic architecture and preservation. I acquired two degrees from the College of Charleston in Art History and Historic Preservation. I also minored in French and Photography, therefore I was able to combine all four subjects to make the most of my studies at the undergraduate level. Studying historic architecture in France helped mold me into the preservationist that I have become. Photography has been my outlet to not only communicate ideas, but document historic architecture in ways that I find most interesting. I am now a first-year graduate student at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, studying Interior Architecture and concentrating on Historic Preservation. I am also working with Preservation North Carolina to help promote preservation more by focusing on outreach in the entire state of North Carolina.
