| Introduction | A Tokyo native, beat maker @djtomoko started her musical career playing piano at the age of 6 via the influence of her mother who was music teacher. When she was 8 years old, @djtomoko was inspired by ZOO, the Japanese dance group with New Jack Swing flavor. This sparked her interest in hiphop its culture, music and sound. She began to hone her skills as a club DJ and playing around Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, the center of Tokyo. Shortly after she transformed herself into beat maker. @djtomoko ventured to NYC in 2008 and lived there for one and half years. While in NYC, @djtomoko sessioned at the great DJ Jazzy Jays studio and built many connections with the producers of Roc Nation. After coming back to Japan, @djtomoko is now pushing her career not only in the Hip Hop industry but also Japanese pop field and others. Now, @djtomokos beats will push the envelope to change the monotonous music scene here! |
