| Introduction | As an avid music fan, mostly of pop and R&B from the late 1960s through the late 1980s, I have always enjoyed the trivia associated with it. Most of this trivia has centered around the music popularity charts in Billboard magazine. At a young age in 1977, I began following the Billboard Hot 100 charts as a regular listener of the nationally syndicated radio program, American Top 40 with Casey Kasem. At the time, the only exposure I had to the Billboard charts was through this program, but as years passed, I began to find the magazine itself at record stores and libraries. American Top 40 eventually moved away from the Billboard Hot 100, but I stayed with it, and Billboard has become the source of all music trivia that I write about. My first love is '70s pop and R&B, followed by early-'80s music. The late 1960s falls in third, with the early 1990s behind that. I enjoy music in general, so any related topic is fair game. There's not a topic that I won't touch. |
