| Introduction | I received my BA degree (1996) in political science from the University of Tartu. Graduated with a MA degree (1997) in European Studies from the Central European University. From 1998 - 2000 directed the Baltic chapter of the non profit Civic Education Project. Received my DEA from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in 2003, and continued my work at the College du Leman until 2005. In 2005 I resumed my lectureship at RSU, and free lance journalist´s travails in the Estonian Broadcasting Corporation. From 2005-2009 I was elected into the Salaspils Town Council, and since 2006 I am continuing doctoral studies at the University of Helsinki. HAPPY MOMENT in my life arrived in 2008, when I married my wife Gaye Spolitis! The aftermath of the October 2010 elections in Latvia brought changes in my career and I was offered to become parliamentary secretary of the Latvian Minister of Defense. After dissolution of the parliament and call for emergency elections I have decided to run for the Latvian parliament now. |
