Introduction I maintain a small orchard of 50-year-old citrus trees, including grapefruit, lemon, and nine varieties of oranges. Sometimes I think of myself as head nurse at an arboreal old-age home. My giant trees, which still produce excellent fruit, are the sole survivors of a much larger trial orchard that played a part in the development of commercial citrus production in my area. I also spend a lot of time woodturning: making peppermills, bowls, and candleholders, among other things. If you'd like to see some photos of my work, click on My Web Page. And remember: it's not about the lathe.
