| Introduction | I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer in October 2009 at the age of 39. Up until then my life had been orderly, not particularly interesting but I could wake up each day safe in the knowledge that nothing unusual would happen. But then I heard the words "I'm sorry, it's cancer" and my unremarkable life became a thing of the past. Unusual things now happen on a daily basis, I no longer have a "life plan" and the world has become an unfamiliar place. |
