| Introduction | I make artist books, collage, mosaics, quilts, wearable art, and jewelry, write fiction and non-fiction, and bellydance. Although I am primarily self-taught, I have won numerous awards and grants, have taught at many Chicago public schools, local libraries, community colleges, the Y.M.C.A., and for the Mayor’s Office. I have, in the past, been particularly interested in ethnic crafts. Recently I have concentrated more on writing, combining art forms, and including a narrative content in my work. In keeping with my preferred theme of renewing the human spirit, I often use recycled materials in my artwork. In 2012, I published my first illustrated novel, Balanced On The Edge, on Amazon Kindle. I am currently mosaicing my house, and some of my work is shown on my blog, Lindiart2@blogspot.com. I have exhibited at: WomanMade Gallery, the Ukrainian Museum of Modern Art, MetalWorks Gallery,the Fine Arts building, Intuit, and had two "one-woman " shows: at Daley College, and Out-of-Line gallery. I have also shown my work in New Orleans, California, Wisconsin, Canada, Indiana, and Denmark. |
