| Introduction | In Oct. 2009 I left my life in Washington, DC to live in Italy until my money ran out. The five years before I left for Italy had been full of "experiences" that no one else seemed to be having. These “experiences” included: a divorce from my Alcoholic husband (who died at the age of 38 due to his Alcoholism); getting off the “fast track” at a job I once loved but lost the stomach for; selling my marital home (I loved that house!); auditioning for and getting a gig as the Lead Interior Designer on a nationally broadcast television show; falling madly in love with an Englishman; buying my very own condo; getting my heart almost irrevocably broken by that bloody Englishman (what was his name again? I forget now.); having a falling out with the person I trusted most in my life; starting a new career in a field I knew almost nothing about; experiencing a breast cancer scare; and meeting a great guy (this time Dutch) I met six months before I left for Italy. I returned home to the Washington, DC area in August 2010. This next chapter of my blog will chronicle my new life in my old life. |
