Introduction | Moving to the Northwest from California was a shock. But after I purchased enough Gore Tex and waterproof shoes I found that the outdoors was right out my door! As I discovered new and hidden places for my young children, I realized that I wanted to share these places with other families. Since I was already teaching art in schools I thought I could also start Tiny Treks for the Northwest! After leading Tiny Treks for 3 years I decided to get my K-8 teaching credential in order to be a better teacher all around. I am passionate about taking children into nature and opening their eyes to the world. |
Interests | I believe passionately about the ability of nature to transform and create people who care about each other and the earth. As a parent of 2 wonderful teenagers, the challenge continues to connect them to the earth especially knowing that the world we live in requires knowledge and time spent with technology. I believe in my family above all knowing that a strong family creates strong and independent children. |
Favorite Movies | Avatar-a futuristic look at environmentalism! Not for children under 12 years of age-but a wonderful treatise on what our world's focus on conquest can do. |
Favorite Music | Norah Jones, Black Eyed Peas, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow and Choral Music |
Favorite Books | Three Cups of Tea, English Patient, You Can't Say You Can't Play |
