| Introduction | I am a geology graduate student at Brown University studying planetary geology. There is so much we can learn about our own planet from other terrestrial planets in our solar system. We can better understand Earth's early history from all the planets and our own climate change by studying Mars. This will be my first trip to Antarctica. While there I'll be working with two other researchers this 2011-2012 field season to understand climate change recorded in glacial deposits in the McMurdo Dry Valleys. Understanding the evolution of glacial landscapes in the McMurdo Dry Valleys can inform us about the glacial features we observe on Mars. We will be out in the field for approximately one and a half months so my posts and responses to comments may be slow at times, but I promise to post and respond when possible. |
