Introduction We used to be an average family. We had two incomes. We lived near the big city, ate out and bought pretty much anything we wanted. We kept the handy mans employed. Then life happened. Now we live in "No Man's Land" literally. We have one income. I homeschool and fight the budget. We’ve trimmed what we had in half. However, I'm starting to like it. Not that I wouldn't like more money, but I am enjoying the challenge with some humility. Hind sight is 20/20 and I'm amazed how much we took for granted. I believe that God uses life to teach us to trust Him and build faith. A mustard seed is pretty small, but one is all it takes to be a huge tree. (Matthew 17:20) I know that he did not bring us to this point to watch us fail. (Jeremiah 29:11) So I am taking life one day at a time, trusting God and being amazed daily. I'm learning to live frugal and loving it. There is a sense of satisfaction that I've found. All the spending was never enough and it only led to wanting more. I decided to start recording the challenges and changes in this blog. Maybe you too, have found yourself caught up in the have-to-haves or maybe you've been downsized, whichever let's learn this lesson together.

Favorite Movies Pay it Forward, Spanglish, The Vow, To Save a Life, more to come...
Favorite Music I love music. About any gendre there is, but it is the lyrics that is important to me. Give me Country, Rock, Rap whatever, but make it moral. I don't want to hear cheating, drinking, gun shooting, cussing, name calling, etc. I love a great beat with a good meaning.
Favorite Books The bible is #1. Some others I tend to keep handy are 'Heaven is for Real' and 'the 36 Hour Day.' I love Mary Hunt, Dave Ramsey and other self-help organizing and financial books. Im not big on romance if it is smutty, but I love books with a lesson learned. I enjoy books from early eras and coming to age books like Jeanette Oaks and Avi.
