| Introduction | Michelle LaRiviere BFA, B.Ed, OCT My professional practice in the arts is diverse and includes digital design, painting, drawing, printmaking, video installation, curating, and consulting. Since moving to North Bay in 2004, I have served on numerous committees for various local arts organizations, and currently sit as chair on the WKP Kennedy Gallery's Advisory Committee. I studied at Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, have a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Guelph, and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. My work was featured at the Chianciano Museum in Italy for the International Award for Digital and Photographic Art 2010, and at the Gagliardi Gallery in the UK in 2011. Many of my artworks reside in private collections in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Presently, I am working with the esteemed American photographer, Lonnie Schlein, who was photo-editor for The New York Times for 35 years. My initial role as the curator of the Canadian debut of his exhibition, "Editing the World," has expanded to include other responsibilities, including managing his blog. |
