| Introduction | I am a person who loves travel. I ran across a quote by St. Augustine once that grabbed me and made a lasting impression: "The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page." I have lived in VA for years and now, Western PA . . . like anything, it is what you make of it. The countryside of VA and PA is beautiful and it is heaven for those of us that claim the outdoors as "the place" to have a good time :) “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” |
| Interests | Understanding the perspectives of others . . . Travel and experiencing other cultures. Embracing my German Heritage. Mixed Martial Arts/Boxing. Being outdoors: Mainly, I love water! Rivers, Lakes, Ocean and WATERFALLS! Active volunteer with the Red Cross and I love, love to ride motorcycles and don't forget that I love to paddle--kayaking and canoeing! |
| Favorite movies | I really enjoy Pre-20th Century Period Pieces--Elizabeth, Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Sweet November, Last Chance Harvey, The Celestine Prophecy, Contact, The Proposal, Anna and the King, The Other Boleyn Girl, Matrix (all of them) and Star Wars (every last one of them) |
| Favorite music | Sarah McLachlan!!!!! The Cranberries, Bob Marley, Maxi Priest, Bunny Wailer, Indigo Girls, Dave Matthews Band, Uh Huh Her, Enya, Rusted Root, Pink, The Waifs, Tegan and Sara, and Madonna. Just to name a few! MUSIC is the BEST :0) |
| Favorite books | Currently, I am reading a couple of books simultaneously--"The Color of Water" by James McBride and "How I learned to snap" by Kirk Read. A true life changer is "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. "Educating Esme" and "Sahara Special" (both very good reading for anyone in the field of education). From all these books, I have taken something away. . . I guess it is true, one never stops learning and truly, I love the thought of the endless journey. |
