About me

Location Minnesota, United States
Introduction I first became interested in studying nutrition in college because of my love for food, science and medicine. My mom actually knew I was going to be a dietitian before I did. My sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison I declared my major as Food Science (I still didn't listen to my mom who kept telling me that I should consider dietetics). As they say,"Mom's always right." My junior year after further nutrition and food science classes I realized dietetics was for me. After graduation I headed up to Minnesota where I completed my dietetic internship at the UMMC-Fairview. Since then I have had a few clinical jobs and am currently working at Regions Hospital. I love my job mostly because I am helping people everyday. In my free time my love for food, cooking and nutrition have led me to be the main chef in the house and sharing my nutrition information on TV. Don't get me wrong I focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains in my diet but I also have a sweet tooth. My main motto for eating is "MODERATION." While there are foods that I don't think are worth the calories. I definitely know what I like to splurge on… Just ask my husband.
