| Introduction | I am a 38 y/o married mother of three beautiful children (one nearly 4 years, one 18 months and the other 3 months). Currently I’m a stay at home mum. My previous careers have included running my own business, temping in the UK to fund my travels in Europe and 7 years with an International Bank. Whilst the opportunity to be the primary carer for my children is fantastic, I fear being ‘left behind’ on the work front. I dread a future of conversations going no further than the state of nappies and sleep patterns and worry that my mind is winding down. This blog is essentially a reflection of my own internal dialogue between two selves – the ‘(want to be super) mum’ and the ‘career woman’. On a good day, it’s a gentle conversation - most days a bit of a battle – occasionally it’s outright gloves off fist fighting…. I dream of raising independent, free thinking children who fulfill their potential and gain happiness and joy in all that they do – I just wonder if maybe it’s time for me to seek a little of that for myself… |
