IntroductionI am manager of the UK Energy Research Centre National Energy Network and this is my first blog so please be gentle. If you are involved in any aspect of energy research, from fundamental research to applied industrial research, and from bench science to science policy, then the UK Energy Research Centre invites you to join, for free, the National Energy Research Network (NERN). NERN aims to be the first point of contact for any national or international queries on UK energy research and seeks to present a clear and accurate picture of the UK energy landscape. As a member NERN you will be able to find, and be found by, energy researchers in the UK and abroad who wish to collaborate. You will be kept up to date on relevant news, jobs, funding, events, opportunities and developments across the energy field. Additionally, NERN also organises, community building coordinating and engagement activities. The Carbon Crucible, a new professional and personal development programme for early career energy researchers, is an example of a community building project.
