Introduction | I live, grow, harvest, cook, and write in the Pacific Northwest. I try to balance my daily work as a pastor of a small inner city church with the spiritual and physical sustenance I find in adventures in sustainable food. For me, this includes creative cooking to work around multiple food allergies. I also live with several autoimmune disorders (including rheumatoid arthritis) which limit my strength and stamina, but inspire me to put good, organic food in my body. |
Interests | God, liturgy, gardening, reading, cooking, the sheep that is lost |
Favorite Movies | It's a Wonderful Life, The Mission, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Young Frankenstein, Monty Python and the Holy Grail |
Favorite Music | Seether, Alison Krauss, CCR, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Crosby Stills & Nash |
Favorite Books | The Seven Storey Mountain, Memory & Heaven, The Green Mile |
When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?
I cupped each broken life until my hands bled, until I remembered my breath and thought maybe God could find some use for it beyond me.
