You can punch a hole in an apple using a straw. How do you think that makes your milkshake feel?
Well, since milkshakes are in the liquid state, the molecules are not nearly as packed as in an apple, so it will not experience the same pain. (Sigh I know, corny engineering answer, but whatever. :P)
