| Introduction | Tena koutou katoa. Ko Gertie toku ingoa. Ko Vullings toku whanau. Ko Te Waotu toku kura. No Horana ahou. Kia ora. I am your child's teacher in Room 1. I enjoy working with children, we have four children ourselves... and not to forget six grandchildren already. I am really "into art". I view art in the junior years as a perfect way of expressing yourself when you are not yet able to read or write. I enjoy studying artists with juniors and then trying to work like them. I am always exploring Early Literacy teaching and learning, from all over the world, to enable children to express themselves in a fun and engaging way while acquiring early reading and writing skills. Art is also an excellent "vessel" to express thinking and new knowledge in mathematics for junior students. |
