| Introduction | Jennifer Alvarado, previously Gardiner received her B.F.A. with an emphasis in painting and printmaking at San Diego State University in 2005; and her M.F.A. in Art Education with a concurrent Graduate Certificate in Museum and Curatorial Studies at California State University, Long Beach in 2011. Beyond the creation of art, Alvarado's passion is to provide unique opportunities for people that create meaningful engagements with art. Jennifer has been an instructor at Brushstrokes for the past four years. She is also the Director of the Bowers Museum’s Kidseum which is an art and archaeology children’s museum that acts as an extension to the Bowers Museum. Kidseum serves approximately 30,000 children a year through school field trips, after school programs, scout badges, birthday parties and families visiting during open hours. Before working for the Bowers Museum, Jennifer was the Development and Outreach Associate for Laguna Art Museum for two years where she was responsible for overseeing education initiatives, programs and assisting with funding. |
