Badlands, Apocalypse Now, Singin' In the Rain, Old Boy, The Leopard, All About Eve, Rear Window, Chinatown, The Crowd, Some Like It Hot, Sweet Smell of Success, The Conversation, The Duellists, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Performance, The Seventh Seal, The Third Man, The Death of Mr Lazarescu, The Piano Teacher, Jean De Florette, This is Spinal Tap, Withnail and I, Psycho, Brighton Rock, Ten Rillington Place, Seance on a Wet Afternoon, The Ladykillers, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Harold and Maude, Mulholland Drive.
Favorite Music Kraftwerk, B52s, Pixies, Motorhead, British Sea Power, Brakes, Roxy Music (only the cred stuff), Bowie (ditto), The Blue Aeroplanes, The Fall, Jacques Brel, the usual old punk stuff, The Wedding Present, The Flaming Stars, The Sadies, Neu!, Can, Bauhaus, French pop, 50's & 60's girl groups, rockabilly, weedy electronica, and Racey.
Favorite Books Anything by William Trevor. Some Brian Moore. 'Therapy' by David Lodge, 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker. Most David Nobbs. Anything by Emile Zola, Tove Jansson, Peter Ackroyd, John Pilger, Wilkie Collins, Dostoevsky, Irving Yalom, E Annie Proulx. Lampedusa's The Leopard, Greene's Brighton Rock. 'Beryl the Peril' Annuals ( preferably late 60s/Early 70s vintage), Peter Ackroyd, AJP Taylor. Increasingly bored with fiction and these days more inclined towards volumes of history.
