| Introduction | I'm an award-winning columnist, journalist, and photographer in Chicago who was born and raised here and except for vacations, have never left and never wanted to. I have been living on the city's North Side--on the shores of shimmering Lake Michigan in East Rogers Park-- since 1976. I started my journalism career in a dozen+ years ago, beginning with the historic Lerner Community Newspapers, and was one of the last reporters to go down with the Lerner ship. From there it was on to Pioneer Press and the Sun-Times News Group, which I left in Jan. 2008 after my paper was sold. I've covered a variety of issues, and this blog will feature the people, places, and things that have a solid impact on Chicago, and hopefully, your lives.
