| Introduction | I was born ... I have 5 siblings (I am the 4th child), all boys, and many extended family and friends. In 10/72 I was diagnosed at the age of 9, with type I (juvenile) diabetes. Comatose, I came close to losing my life (my first, and most prominent near death experience). I grew up in MA, did many things most kids and teenagers did and experimented with at the time, married, divorced, and gave birth to the most incredible creature to ever hit earth!! A huge undertaking at the time given the disease. She was the most difficult and pleasurable experience of my life. She has been my most successful and notable accomplishment. In the sense that she was healthy, and has remained so into adulthood. My family is large, dysfunctional at best, and over the years, has been, in many ways has been removed in my joys, failures, trials, and tribulations, with the exception of my mother, and some very close friends. Some more than others, some now forever gone from earth, but never from my heart or mind. So ... lets start from here. Join me on my next journey in life. I hope for this to be a learning experience for all who join me. |
| Interests | As many of you who know me, I have varied interests; good conversation on pretty much any topic, music, the arts, my dog, my love of family and friends, twisted humor, a good laugh. Simplistic pleasures in life so many seem to overlook. |
| Favorite movies | When Harry met Sally, Steel Magnolias, Lions for Lambs, Phenomenon. There are really too many to list ... LOL ... I love a good comedy, am at heart a true romantic, and enjoy "real" life stories such as my favorite dysfunctional dramas Little Miss Sunshine, Juno and The Ya-Ya sisterhood. |
| Favorite music | The blues, jazz, easy rock, classics; like Dino, Ray Charles, B.B. King, John Hiatt, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Michael Buble', Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and of couse Elvis !! ... Don't mind some of the old "shit-kicker" country (but only on a small dose schedule). I will no doubt have my Ipod loaded with lots of these folks and a couple of old friends of mine from the Boston area, Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson and Allen Estes. I miss having access to this sort of entertainment now living out in the desert. |
| Favorite books | "Brain Droppings" by George Carlin, "In an Instant" by Bob Woodruff, "True Compass" a memoir by Ted Kennedy, Books on Eleanor Rooselvelt,Real life stories of murder and intrigue, self-help, motivational/spiritual types of reading. I am a news junkie and enjoy travel books to places I have been or still dream about going to. |
