| Introduction | I am the love child of Flo the Greasy Spoon Waitress and either Allen Ginsberg or Jack Kerouac (although Jack is better looking, I like to think I belong to Allen). Growing up, I played Barbie's with Sandra Cisneros. I often ran away, sometimes hiding in Harlem with Langston Hughes, sometimes in Robert Louis Stevenson's Garden. I played mediator for Simone and Jean-Paul. I hung out at the bar with Bukowski, while I talked with Maya about my childhood. I was married to Hawthorne and had an affair with Shakespeare. I tried to commit suicide with my friends Anne and Sylvia. Now, I write with Salinger. I earned my BA in psychology/criminal justice, and I am working on my MA in English. I spent part of my life working daily with cops, counsel, and criminals. Some of my best friends have been dope fiends, gang bangers, murders, defrauders, and the people who arrest, convict, and baby-sit them. By myself I've raised Kane. I'm just an All-American Girl, trying to make it in everybody else's world. |
| Interests | Peace, love, happiness, honesty, reading, writin', but no 'rithmetic. I also like nature, history, and anything Gold Rush related. A good laugh can cure what ails ya. |
| Favorite movies | Wuthering Heights (1939), Persepolis, Pan's Labyrinth, Casablanca, and many others that I can't think of right now. |
| Favorite music | I like it all, from country to classical, from world to rock, and from rap to techno. |
| Favorite books | I love books, but I have have an extra soft spot for works by Joyce Carol Oates, Charles Bukowski, and the beat writers--especially Ginsberg and Kerouac. |
Your hand has been replaced by a rubber stamp. What does it say?
No thank you
