| Introduction | I am an Anglican priest and until 2010 spent the majority of my 40 year professional career involved in the justice and welfare ministries of the Church. I was the CEO of Anglicare Victoria, the largest Church based children, youth and family services agency in Victoria from 2000 to 2010. During that time also, from 2005 to 2010, I was Chair of Anglicare Australia, the national peak body for Anglican welfare and justice agencies across the 23 dioceses of the Church. From 1993 till 2010 I was a member and Chair of the Melbourne Anglican Social Responsibilities Committee. In 2010 I joined the Trinity College Theological School as a lecturer and Director of Ministry formation. I have a keen interest in the role of religion in the public forum and am committed to the public participation by the church and its welfare agencies in the formation of public policy. I continue to write and speak on public issues from both a theological and welfare perspective. In 2008 I was awarded Member {AM} in the General Division of the Order of Australia for services to the Anglican Church and to the community. |
