| Introduction | Welcome to my teaching portfolio blog. My name is Beth Edwards and this space is designed so you can understand a bit about me, what motivates me to teaching and my teaching methods. As a primary school teacher interested in student-based learning, my goal is to empower my students in becoming curious people – people who can solve problems both critically and creatively, and are inspired to change their world. In accordance with the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leaderships' standards education revolves around the learner and does so regardless of disadvantage so that each student has equal opportunity to learn (2014). It is my passion to achieve this through developing positive relationships with my students – a process that also puts me in the position of learning. This blog takes you through the Australian Teacher Standards [AITSL] with evidence showing how these standards inform my teaching practice. Happy reading. Beth |
