| Introduction | Irratum is a sound and performance vehicle founded by Richard Warfield Smith and Peter F.A.N. Redgrave. Warfield has been active in numerous experimental music and art projects since the early nineties, most notably Rome one of the initial so-called Post Rock units to come out of Chicago. In Irratum, Warfield explores analog sound synthesis and processing. Redgrave has also performed internationally with Smelling Salt Amusements and contributes his sound design and constructed instruments to the endeavor. “Together in the Irratum project, they coalese to present us with concentrated chilling tones of electronic and acoustic instruments that shimmer and slowly dance around each other. Their compositions lure the listener into a game of distinction, distorting our reality with frequencings that go in and around our head.” |
