| Introduction | In the house I grew up in, our dining room was a eat in kitchen. My entire life, a black and white photo of cake that hung there. You see, this cake was very special to my mother. This was her very own recipe, which won in the Pillsbury Bake Off. Talk about intimidation! To be honest, to me cooking was just something you did to feed your family. As the years have gone by, I have gotten creative in the kitchen. I have a bbq sauce recipe from my father-in-law, and I started to tinker with the recipe. Every time I made the sauce, I changed it, and never made it the same way twice.This frustrated my husband, because I could never recreate it. One day about seven years ago, all the ingredients fell into place AND I had written it down as I made it. Since then, it has become a bit of a habit of mine to tinker each recipe I come across. Sometimes the changes are good, sometimes they flop. I keep trying, because that is what cooking is all about, creativity.
