| Introduction | Greetings, seekers of culture. On and off over the past decade or so, I have mainly written music reviews for various fanzines, publications and websites. Occasionally I would sketch out an idea for a TV drama, sitcom or *cough* novel. I have recently decided to stop the flirting and to start the full-frontal writing-for-TV thing in earnest. I have set up this blog to record my progress - or lack of - at attempting to get something made from my writing, be it a 'telly', a radio drama, or film. My writing influences range from Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon) and Joss Whedon (Buffy, Dollhouse), to Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais (Likely Lads, Porridge) and Paul Abbot (State of Play, Cracker). Favourite Television programmes, which also povide an influenece, or I merely gaze in awe at, include: Mad Men, Doctor Who, Glee, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Wire, Sapphire & Steel, Deadwood, Inspector Morse, Twin Peaks, and Peep Show. And Wonder Showzen. |
