| Introduction | Megan Hartigan is a graduate student at Johnson State College. Her experiences and interests in education are based in alternative educational programing for youth. Most recently, Megan has been coordinating and implementing Farm Based Education programs in New Hampshire and across Vermont. She works with the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont and the Farm Based Education Association. Working within small learning communities, who are being faced with consolidation, has sparked an interest as to what would happen to these communities and students educational experience if their schools were dismantled? Also, does school consolidation save the money that legislatures promise? |
