| Introduction | Tom Thorne is a journalist and writer. His journalism background is combined with an earlier career at TVOntario, Ontario's educational broadcaster. Later Tom worked in marketing, the early development of the web with TVOntario, Bell Canada,and a private firm Faxtel Information Services whose main achievement was producing the first online stock charts. Finally he taught marketing at a college for over 16 years. Tom is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto where he studied Radio and Television Arts and Journalism. He is the founding editor of the Eyeopener, Ryerson's student newspaper now in its 52nd year of publication. His main interests now are following trends in the Information Age and particularly developments in Artificial Intelligence applied to the Internet. He is also expert in Argyllshire and Dunbartonshire Scottish family history. |
